Artist's Comments

A street artist set up at the north end of Jackson Square in New Orleans' French Quarter.

Note: I've changed the photo a little better. I'm into the sans serif thing for the time being. I'm kicking myself for not saving a PSD of my original frame work - that would have made tweaking this easier on myself...

I love this photograph almost as much as the art he's selling! Very nice picture, the colors are great.

Great shot. Looks like he has some nice works himself :aww:

This is the internet. If you don't like something that is said to you or someone else, do us all a favor and ignore it. If you fail to ignore it, then get over it as quick as possible. Drama is unneeded on the internet.

Now thats a true artist if I've ever seen one.

Why not have a gallery showing right in the mist of the hustle and bustle of the busy city. I'm sure there are many people who love it.

I hope the guy gets some sales too.

very nice shot, looks like he has some beautiful works wouldn't you have for it to start raining. Nice title aswell =)

i like how you captured the artist when he wasn't picking to the crowd, which i find is the ... you know, ugliest pose to put an artist into.
however it'd be better if he was turned around. well, considering this is journalism:

i wouldn't have included the trees. you have a nice, geometrical pattern of pictures. IMHO, (and mho is always for simplicity), framing lower, or even zooming in (or walking up closer) would have:

- con: lessen context
- pro: look more graphic.

a very cool thing to do (which requires guts), would be to come up fairly close and on widest lens setting (least zoom possible) take a low angle picture, with the artist and all the pictures and some of the street in the background.

seeing a little bit of art on the right: maybe incorporating the corner into the picture would have added more dimension - right now the slope makes the picture "fall over" instead of adding depth.

you have not placed the artist in the middle - which is great. i think you have definetly a good eye for noticing colors and contrast.

this is imho. i'm just saying what i'd have done there =)

very cool reminds me of the type of scene you see everyday in nyc, one man selling photographs of the city another selling drawings of people, another paintings. very nice scene here :)
