What I have done here is merely an arrangement of another artists' work.
This is the artwork of Jason Salavon, whose work I have taken interest in as of late. It appeals to me as both an art appreciator and a mathematician. What you see featured in the center of this wallpaper are images constructed by taking the average color of every Playboy centerfold in a decade for each pixel. Therefore, these portraits are indeed the average centerfold for that span of time.
To begin with, this is an extraordinarily neat concept. Jason has a number of such works in his private gallery at www.salavon.com, and all are interesting in their own right. I really recommend you check his work out.
But these images are interesting for more than their aesthetic value. Spend some time examining these portraits. You can see the progression in trends of what the male half of our species found arractive in women in the last fourty years. Notice how the hair color changes, notice how the body types are changing oh-so-subtly. These works have a profound social value that have brought some joy to my day just contemplating them.
Therefore, with permission, I present this wallpaper-ready version of Jason Salavon's artwork. Please, enjoy. I am only the courier. :)

They do take the general shape at a distance. It's a great image and a lot of decication went to find or collect all the centerfolds for each decade. lol.
Hugh Hefner should hang this one at his mansion LOL.

I cant see any fine details, just the abstract - maybe its just the way I'm looking at it? I like it for the texture and abstacted images that sneak up on you, and when you think youve found something, it's gone and something else catches your eye..make sense? :noir: you've a talented friend!

I viewed the original picture... kinda creepy... I saw a few faces in there, mostly an old man and some demon face. thanks for introducing me to this artist.

interesting to see how the width of the decades-centerfolds get slimmer and slimmer. ;)
